Italian Style: Women shoes in Italy

Since how long western man developed a special interest for the little feet of his woman, possibly wearing elegant high-heel shoes? At least since Cinderella's tale time, with her crystal little shoes and her beautiful foot, the littlest one in the whole kingdom.

For sure since when western woman, the Italian one firstly, has found a very special pleasure wearing high-heel shoes and checking men's eyes watching persistently their little feet. An interest became even more strong since when women's skirt shortened; and so, besides feet, also a good part of their beautiful legs were exposed, sometimes wearing long silk socks, sometimes completely naked, but carefully shaved and tanned.

At the very beginning there were the pumps, fitting ideally with elegant '50 years Dior suits, with large skirts just under the knee and narrow waistline.

The pumps, after that happy season, have remained with us forever (luckily) and have disappeared only for a short period, during rule-breaking sixties and barbaric seventies. They are the preferred solution for the sexy woman, even better if leg and foot are without socks, free and tanned.

But during the hot summer the little foot could be completely free, giving us the possibility to admire its perfection. High-heel strappy sandals are the solution, another product of that happy season of public severity and private hedonism, the '50s. Also sandal has remained with us since then forever, season by season enriched by other evolutions, such us streaks more and more reduced, slave like, or without nothing to hold the ankle, imposing so a carefully walking: short steps and straight back.

Afterwards another variant arrived during the sixties, and spread all over the world since the 2000's, an evolution of the simplest and most ancient shoes in the world: the one that now is named flip-flop.

A simple flip-flop slipper can became even an intriguing shoe, if used in an elegant high-heel sandal. And the whole could be enriched by a long streak, all over the leg, like the slaves in the ancient Rome. The slaves, that couldn't refuse anything, but even wouldn't refuse anything ... And furthermore could be worn by a tender foot, as that of my friend ...

During the 2000s years also another fashion arrived, for all women, directly from the illustrations of the S&M universe: dominatrix and submissive shoes, those worn by Sweet Gwendoline and by others Sir Distic D'Arcy slaves and helpers (from the tales of John Willie).

And here she is Gwendolin as usual in trouble, inspiration for shoes designer starting from the '90s.

And so we could see pumps with ankle strap, leather black boots, iron heel, extremely high heels. It was incredible to see these objects of seduction during a normal day, worn by normal women, but it did happen.
